Night Before

- Dinner at one of the outstanding restaurants in Charlottesville or one of the resident's house.
For all of the dinner details, please contact Joshua Rothstein.

Interview Day

7:30 a.m.: Meet in the main lobby of the hospital and walk over to the administrative offices where the interviews will take place.

7:40-8:00 a.m.: Light breakfast
8:00-8:50 a.m.: Dr. Woods will give a brief overview of our EM program.
9:00-12:00 p.m.: 20 minute interviews with four faculty members and one of our residents.
12:00-12:15 p.m.: Chair talk
12:30 p.m.: Lunch with our residents within the department followed by a tour of our Emergency Department
Your day will conclude by or before 2:00 p.m.

To ensure special rates you must mention that you are interviewing for the Residency Program at the University of Virginia Health System. These rates not apply during a home football game weekend and you should verify your rate at time of reservation. Occasionally, residents of the program are able to accommodate applicants in their homes. Note: Washington, DC is a good 3 hour drive from Charlottesville during
rush-hour
If you will need transportation to/from the Charlottesville-Albemarle airport,
select a hotel offering FREE roundtrip transport.  The Charlottesville airport
is about 20 minutes out of town.
If you plan to drive, please stay close to UVA and plan to walk over to your
interview.  If you must park, use ONLY the 11th Street Garage as you will get
a parking ticket if you park in the patient lot across from the Emergency Room
(we are unable to reimburse for those costs).
If you are unable to attend, kindly let us know as soon as possible so that another candidate may
have the opportunity to interview.
