2013 Symposium set for May 10-11
Please join us for Patients and Providers: Managing
Outcomes in Anesthesiology, the 2013 Symposium, at the Omni
Hotel on the Downtown Mall in Charlottesville, VA. Lynda T. Wells
will once again direct the symposium, with the assistance of John C.
Rowlingson.
|
Using didactics, panel and audience discussion, interactive learning
strategies, the symposium will examine known factors influencing
outcomes in both patients and providers. How do we handle the
challenges of obesity and acute intoxication in trauma cases? How
do we encourage our patients to adopt healthier lifestyle
choices? How do we deliver "bad news"? How does a
catastrophic outcome affect the provider? What can the provider
do to ameliorate these effects?
Our focus is on information you can use to make a difference in your
practice of anesthesia. In addition to anesthesiologists from
near and far, we've called upon professionals from law, social work,
surgery, faith, and alternative medicine for an interdisciplinary
perspective on these issues. We're also offering an optional
workshop on mindfulness Friday morning, suitable for participants at
all levels of experience.
