Faculty positions

The Department of Anesthesiology welcomes applications from faculty candidates with diverse interests and expertise and a commitment to a career in academic medicine.  All ranks are considered, but we are particularly interested in recent residency and fellowship graduates with an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. who are interested in combining clinical practice with resident education and/or research. In addition to generalists, we seek faculty members interested in regional anesthesia, pain management, critical care, cardiac, pediatric, and neuro-anesthesiology.  All applicants must be certified or eligible for board certification by the American Board of Anesthesiology.

CRNA/Anesthesia Tech positions

Nurse anesthetists are an integral part of the anesthesia team at the University of Virginia Hospital.  CRNAs and anesthesia technicians are employees of the University of Virginia Health System, which maintains a personnel system separate from that of the University of Virginia.

UVA offers a wide variety of cases for CRNA practitioners.  As a Level I Trauma Center, UVA offers state-of-the-art trauma, medical, surgical, and burn treatment.  University Hospital has 26 inpatient operating rooms, 6 outpatient operating rooms, and several remote anesthesia locations (CT/MRI, Interventional Radiology, Lithotripsy, and Endoscopy).
