The International Anesthesia Research Society (IARS) has named Jacob Raphael the 2010 recipient of the Clinical Scholar Research Award. Randy Blank wins 2010 Teaching Excellence Award

At the 2010 "State of the School" faculty meeting, Dean Steven T. DeKosky presented Associate Professor Randal S. Blank, M.D., Ph.D., with the School of Medicine Award for Excellence in Teaching. Dr. Blank first came to the SOM as a medical student and completed his residency in the Department of Anesthesiology before being appointed to the faculty in 2001. He is head of our Thoracic Anesthesia division. |
Ed Nemergut honored by IARS for teaching innovation

The International Anesthesia Research Society announced in September, 2010, that Edward C. Nemergut, M.D., Associate Professor of Anesthesiology, is the recipient of their 2010 Award for Innovation in Teaching. Dr. Nemergut developed the online site, OpenAnesthesia.org, with the ambitious hope of "revolutionizing graduate medical education." The site has useful tools for learning and documentation of achievement, as well as a wiki for collaboration. |
