In addition to serving the School of Medicine, the Clinical Skills Center facilities and standardized patients are utilized to teach and assess undergraduate and graduate students in the School of Nursing.
Grant funded research projects frequently use the Clinical Skills Center to develop cases for teaching and assessment in areas of inter-professional collaboration, clinical skills instruction, and graduate medical education.
Standardized patients are used to aid in the instruction of practicing physicians, housestaff and allied health students in small group settings.
SPs are also used for lecture demonstrations in various medical school courses (live and videotape).
We are always open to new and innovative methods for teaching and assessment.
If you have ideas and/or suggestions for new methods, please contact us.
