I am a second-year undergraduate and Echols scholar continuing my previous work from NIH in a collaborative capacity. I am further developing a whole-mount dissection and staining protocol for analysis of adult neurogenesis in the hippocampal dentate gyrus. Under the mentorship of Zhenjie Lu, I am investigating neurogenesis in mice with immune system impairments using this technique. I intend to continue undergraduate research and pursue an M.D./Ph.D. program and career in translational medicine.
