As a postdoctoral fellow in the Kipnis lab, I’m working on two different projects.  My first project concerns meningeal T cells that have been shown to have pro-cognitive function. Using a combination of confocal and intravital microscopy I’m trying to decipher how they enter and interact with meningeal antigen presenting cells. My second project is the study of the RNA binding molecule FMRP in the peripheral and brain-resident immune cells. Whereas fragile X is described as being a neuron-related disease, we now have evidence that FMRP is expressed in other cell type, notably microglia, which could play a role in the physiopathology of the disease.
