UVA specialties ranked in this year’s guide are:

According to U.S. News, only 140 medical centers out of over 5,000 nationwide are ranked in one or more of the 16 specialties in this year's "Best Hospitals."

It is an honor that we have medical specialties continually ranked among the best in the nation by our peers andU.S. News.  Our patients and their families have placed a sacred trust in our faculty and staff to provide them with the highest quality medical care possible.  We are committed to providing innovative treatments and compassionate care to all patients and that is the standard by which we seek to be measured.

The Medical Center, the School of Medicine, and the Health Services Foundation are moving forward in a new era of collaboration.  Our infrastructure investments, such as the Emily Couric Clinical Cancer Center, and our partnerships with other healthcare providers are increasing access for our patients and making the Health System a more welcoming place for all of our visitors.  However, the most important investments we make are in our employees and the care we all deliver.

We congratulate the physicians, nurses, and staff in the five specialties recognized by U.S.News.

We thank all of you for your contributions to the Health System.
