Engagement Education

Fostering Engagement at Work

Creating an engaged work environment is a  priority within the SOM and across the Health System and key to achieving our education, patient care, and research missions. The Office of Organizational Learning & Devleopment hosts a variety of education and development sessions to educate employees about engagement and how individuals can help strengthen and improve our workplace. These sessions are open to all faculty and staff of the SOM and are announced via email and advertised through departmental contacts.

Leader Education

Employee Engagement Leader Education Sessions are designed to teach supervisors, managers, directors, and department chairs how to interpret and communicate work-group specific results with their teams and how to create effective impact plans for improvement. Participants will also see SOM and Health System survey results, review the Gallup Online tool, and have an opportunity to review their workgroup specific results.

All supervisors are welcome to attend. Leaders who will receive a scorecard report with unit level results should plan to attend a Leader Education Session. Email invitations to participate will be sent directly to each supervisor in the SOM.

Leader Education Sessions were held in September 2013, January 2014, and April 2014.
